Our client is a market leading software company based in Hertfordshire,

They have been established for 25 years, initially based and covering the Nordic region.

They specialise in providing online solutions to universities internationally. They have an established reputation for both great products and excellent customer service. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Business Development Manager to join their team and manage their expansion into new territories whilst supporting the UK market.

Responsible for defined international territories you will create and manage opportunities, demonstrate our solution, retain and grow the business and enhance our market position.

Their software is available either as an on-premise, or a SAAS solution.

Critical to success is the need to develop strong working relationships with customers.

Strong client communication skills are essential, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts both inside and outside the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Generating leads, and converting leads into sales
  • Meeting financial targets and KPIs
  • Management of tender responses (as required)
  • Working in partnership with our in-house Marketing Manager
  • Liaising internally with commercial and product teams
  • Communicating market knowledge and feedback to the business

The successful applicant will have:

  • An outgoing personality with a can do attitude
  • Experience in a similar sales role
  • Interest in technology, experience of working for a software house, or knowledge of the university market (all advantageous but not essential)
  • First class communication skills (phone, email and face to face)
  • Solid administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • IT literacy
  • A business or systems related degree (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
