This client has developed …excuse the pun but it is cutting edge glass technology, used in windows, electronically tint-able skylights, curtain walls etc.

Recent advancements in technology has allowed them to manufacturer and creat a market and uptake globally at some of the most prestigious location in the EMEA and beyond.

The current success has led to them requiring additional hires for the development & also for the strategic commercial and technical support and installation of this technology.

 

Project Manager responsible for:

  • Pre-Sales activities
  • Supporting specification activities (architectural and electrical drawing review, Glass makeup and performance calculations…
  • Post-Sales activities
  • Supporting façade and electrical contractors. Control system configuration, Wiring diagrams edition, and commissioning execution

Main Functions:

  • Managing the design and technical activities on multiple projects in various stages from inception to completion.

 

Pre-sale:

  • Support the specification/sales team in various technical pre-sale activities by providing expertise and reinforcing the value proposition:
  • Validate system specifications against design constraints (electrical power, glass size and shape) and project configuration.
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) with the various stakeholders on how to design, specify and install the product.
  • Develop project specific system level wiring diagrams for the control system. Competently illustrate and explain the controls system, the zoning, and location of components for a specific project.

 

During project installation:

Capably explain/support the installation process to glazing contractors, electricians and others in an easy to understand manner.

 

Post-installation:

  • Commission and Troubleshoot the project at the construction site including the electronic controls.
  • Communicate / coordinate with customers on the planning of commissioning activities.
  • Creation and management of project file documentation

 

Qualifications

  • Engineering (Electrical preferred), Architecture, or other suitable technical degree preferred.
  • Proficient in or be capable of becoming proficient in the interpretation of Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and be capable of becoming proficient in the use of other software and business systems.
  • Be proficient or be capable of becoming proficient in, energy modeling and daylight analysis simulation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills (telephone and in person) and ability to interact successfully with all types of people regardless of education or stature.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing their work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Extreme attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and independently. Has the skill to solve problems and strong desire to please the customer.
  • Speaking and writing in English and German is required. Capable to communicate in French would be a plus.
  • Minimum 2/3 years of experience in technical customer service, construction project management or similar experience required.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Travel is required, averaging 30% to 50% of the time depending on the project requirements and may vary over the course of the year, primarily to UK and occasional destinations overseas.
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license.
  • Occasional work after normal business hours or weekends may be required on occasion to meet project needs based on schedule or project location.
  • Without assistance, be willing and capable to climb and work off of ladders, scaffolds, etc. as well as being willing to be transported in various lifts, swing stages, and other aerial equipment to various heights on construction sites.
