The purpose of the Bid Writer vacancy is to assist and create professionally written proposal content that communicates our client’s value proposition, advantages, benefits, processes in accordance in influencing the recipient to enter into a business arrangement.

You will be involved in bids located in the Recruitment Industry; the Bids would be focused on various sectors such as Technology, Banking, Energy.

This is a key role supporting the Bid team, and will have an important link to the growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in creating and also creating & producing the written content for bids.
  • Assisting in storyboard sessions with the bid teams to outline response content
  • Writing/adapting material for use in bids and maintaining the Bid Library
  • Ensuring relevant internal approvals (key reviews) completed for all bids in accordance with our clients quality management processes.
  • Submitting compliant bid documentations according to client instructions and timetable
  • Arranging independent QA / Final Document reviews for large bids (including response scoring).
  • Support and assistance with other writing activities (when workload allows) including opinion piece, white papers and other collateral production.

Knowledge

  • Proven experience of bid writing, both producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment.
  • Experience of storyboard sessions with the bid team and solution subject matter experts will be useful but not essential.
  • At least 1-2 years previous work in this capacity or in a Business Development or marketing role an advantage but not a prerequisite/essential.
  • Knowledge/experience of working for a Recruitment Consultancy or similar sales organisation company advantage but not a prerequisite/essential
  • Knowledge/experience of document management an advantage

  • Excellent Client facing skills
  • Advanced Word / PowerPoint skills plus other relevant applications where appropriate
  • Excellent verbal communication and relationship building skills

Qualifications

  • Degree educated (ideally English Literature) or journalistic / professional writing background.

  • Confidence to work with minimal management oversight but know when to seek help
  • A “can do” attitude. Self starter / proactivity very important
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation
  • Relationship oriented / Team player
  • Organised, measured and disciplined
  • Able to cope with pressure in a deadline driven environment.
  • Attention to detail very important
  • Strong writing skills to enhance material and engage read
