Role and Responsibilities

Develop and grow the business by enhancing relationships with existing customer base and building new prospects in the region.

Key Tasks

Core Tasks

  • Establish, develops and maintains excellent relationships with existing and potential Customers, through effective communication (visit, telephone, email & letter, etc).
  • Contribute to the annual business turnover by business growth.
  • Establish and progress new proposals for new and existing customers.
  • Attend trade fairs, partner forums and other ad hoc activities involving customers.
  • Works closely with the National Account Manager as required follows up any customer accounts which require support or development.
  • Ensure that all required information is submitted to HQ to provide adequate account
  • Contribute to business development of marketing strategy by reporting trends within the regions and customer base.
  • Contribute to product awareness and development in response to customer needs.
  • Keeps abreast of competition and their activities in the regions.
  • Increase the customer base with the introduction of new customers through prospects and cold calling.
  • Progress new products and ranges to all customers.
  • To promote the Company at every opportunity
People

  • Manage own diary and administration.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales Director and Sales Manager, to ensure good information and work flow.
  • Work closely with the Telesales Team, ensuring that the customer base is continually serviced.
  • Work with other teams particularly the Operations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to the Organisation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
Key Business reporting and administration

  • Keep abreast of the reports, status of proposals in the pipeline and of journey plans.
  • Maintain accurate concise records using the agreed systems and ensure all customer files are well organised with all relevant documentation.
  • Provide reporting / internal communication as required.
  • Analyse sales activities within region and deliver action plan reports accordingly.

Miscellaneous

Carries out any other work commensurate with this post, or as reasonably requested by senior management.

 

Skills and Experience

Essential
  • At least 2 years experience of working in a customer-facing role, with excellent customer relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Focused on results, Ambition set – to exceed sales targets.
  • Conscious and accurate with regard to detail.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to priorities in a multi-task environment.
  • Ability to work proactively and on own initiative.
  • To be able to actively solve problems when required.
  • Extensive local, regional knowledge.
  • IT literate (MS Office and the internet).
  • Fluency and clarity in verbal and written speech.
  • Experience of, and willingness to, travel regionally and nationally.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Ability to sell to customers with a focus on being able to negotiate and overcome objections in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Strong personality, superb communication skills with a clear, articulate telephone manner and excellent listening skills
  • Ability to build rapport and a positive and long lasting impression with customers
  • Professional appearance with a positive, hardworking, willing to learn attitude and able to take direction

Education and Qualifications

  • Desirable
  • Maths & English at GCSE or local equivalent
  • Good standard of both written and verbal English

  • Strong social motivation – commitment to, and empathy with, the aims and objectives of the Organisation
  • Team-working – As Herald Plastic Limited a small – medium organisation, getting along with your colleagues is essential.
  • As part of your role, you will also be involved from time to time with various cross-departmental communications; therefore, you must be a strong communicator at varying levels.
  • Full current clean driving licence.
